Zoho Voice unveils Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC): Keep your number, amplify your reach!

A business must be free to build telephony infrastructure that can adapt to its growing needs. Scalable telephony solutions should accommodate your contact center requirements while supporting local carrier usage, even if it's outside the scope of the solution.

With this in mind, Zoho Voice recently launched Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC) to let you use your preferred carrier while still leveraging the benefits of the contact center platform. You can handpick carriers and numbers of your choice, giving you the edge financially.

What is BYOC?

BYOC gives you the freedom to use Voice's capabilities while having your own number and your local/preferred carrier.

Gone are the days of having to purchase Zoho Voice numbers or porting your existing numbers to use our services. With BYOC, you can experience Zoho Voice while reaping the benefits of better customer outreach from your existing carriers.

Why BYOC?

BYOC means your business can get better coverage in your area without call rates burning a hole in your pocket. Meanwhile, your telephony network benefits greatly by adopting a cloud-based contact center with advanced telephony features.

This is a classic case of BYOC, where a long-term carrier contract's competitive pricing joins with a cloud-based telephony platform's international coverage. Plus, the advanced features can only boost your business growth.

The Old Way vs. The BYOC Way

Until now, joining Zoho Voice required buying our numbers or porting yours. While effective, this didn't suit businesses happy with their current carrier contracts or those needing specific local providers.

BYOC lets you connect your existing carrier's SIP trunk directly to Zoho Voice. Essentially, you plug your preferred phone service into our feature-rich platform.

Migration is now made simpler in Zoho Voice

The newly launched BYOC can be configured in Zoho Voice under the Settings tab. You can add up to a maximum of 5 carrier configurations per organization.

Note: BYOC configurations can only be processed by a Super Admin/Admin.

Who can benefit the most from BYOC?

BYOC is the best solution if any of the following scenarios apply to your business.

Not getting value from your carrier

Your business might be paying a higher bundled cost compared to choosing your own carrier. Opting for the bundled-in carrier might not have the coverage or features your organization needs, and terminating long-term contracts you signed with your carriers won't reflect well on your balance sheet either.

Connectivity issues

If the carrier has poor coverage or dropped calls, it can impact your company’s reputation. It can even be a compliance problem when it comes to emergency calls. Having a reliable carrier when it comes to operational continuity while getting the best out of the cloud telephony service, could be the icing on the cake.

Limited global outreach

While a fully managed Unified Communication (UC) solution with built-in carriers reduces overhead costs, its modest international coverage is a limitation. Thanks to competitive pricing, local carriers have better penetration in many businesses' native regions, while giving an edge on better customer outreach.
