My organization has both branches and warehouses. How will migrating to locations affect it?
Scenario: Molly’s organization has 5 branches, each with one associated warehouse, making a total of 5 warehouses. After migrating to the Locations feature in Zoho Books, all the branches will be converted into business locations, and the warehouses will be converted into warehouse locations. Each warehouse location will be linked as a child location under its respective business location, maintaining the parent-child relationship.
Once you migrate to Locations from Branches and Warehouses, all existing branches will be updated as business locations, and all existing warehouses will be updated as warehouse locations, following a parent-child hierarchy. The existing warehouses will be assigned as child locations to their associated parent business locations.
The primary branch which is converted to a business location will be marked as the primary location. The branches and warehouses associated with the existing transactions will be replaced by locations. Note that if inventory tracking is not enabled for an item, the business location of the transaction will be applied as the warehouse location for the line items.
Any previously configured automations, such as workflows or custom functions involving branches and warehouses, must be reconfigured after migrating to the Locations feature.
