When can I choose the currency for my customer/vendor?

In Zoho Books Multi-currency invoicing is a feature that allows you to create and manage transactions in different currencies.

Note: Associating a currency other than the base currency with a customer or vendor is available only in certain plans of Zoho Books. Visit the pricing page to check if it’s available in your current plan.

When you create a customer or vendor profile, you can select a currency from the dropdown list. This currency will be used as the default currency for all transactions related to that customer or vendor. This is particularly useful if you have customers or vendors who are located in different countries and use different currencies.

Scenario: You have a customer in the United States who pays you in US dollars. Now, you can associate the US dollar currency with that customer. Similarly, if you have a vendor in Europe who charges you in Euros, you can associate the Euro currency with that vendor. This way, you can keep track of all transactions related to that customer or vendor in their respective currencies.

Here’s how you can associate a currency with a customer or vendor:

  • Navigate to the Sales module and select Customers, or go to the Purchases module and select Vendors.
  • Click the + New button in the top right corner of the page. Enter all the necessary details and in the Other Details section, select the Currency from the currency dropdown.
  • Click Save.
